Mana Base

In a 60 card deck, you normally want to play around 24-26 lands, depending of your mana curve.

As we are playing with only uncommons, most duals and utility lands enter the battlefield tapped, and because of that, you want to limit how many you play.

Normally it is OK to play something between 8-10 lands that enter the battlefield tapped.

Finally, there are several lands that keep appearing in most of Brawltisan decks, so here are some examples.

Monocolor

In monocolored decks you usually find lands that can be traded for a card late in the game.

  • Cycle lands
  • Spheres
  • Hidden lands from Lost Caverns

There are a few utility lands on each color that are worth adding. This is very dependent on the deck itself, and your mileage may vary

Colorless

Monocolor decks can afford to play a few colorless lands, sometimes multicolor decks too, if it fits their plan.

Here are some notable examples, first for mana acceleration:

  • Temple of the false god
  • Ancient Tomb

Also land destruction. There are not many nonbasic lands in Artisan, but they are usually worth destroying, so Demolition field and Field of Ruin do see some play.

Or just Draw, scry or even give counters as a land that enters untapped

  • Cryptic Caves
  • Crystal grotto

General mana fixing lands

Obviously, you want to play command tower

The fetch lands of Artisan are basically the same card in functional reprints.

  • Terramorphic expanse / Evolving Wilds
  • Escape tunnel
  • Myriad Landscape
  • Ash Barrens

In certain cases you also want to play lands that care about creature types, if your deck is geared towards a tribe, such as Giants, Elves, Clerics, Thallids… you name it, the most convenient ones are:

  • Path of Ancestry
  • Secluded Courtyard

2 color lands

And then the most used duals

  • Bounce lands
  • Campus / Capenna draw lands
  • Life gain duals
  • Damage duals

Depending of your deck, you might be interested in the artifact duals, or the ones that have both land types, or maybe even the guildgates.

Just keep in mind the amount of tap lands that you play and how much they can slow you down.
